for example, jubilation is an excited state in body and mind
persons, generally, seek excitation moving from one state of infusion to another
so, this is like living high to high unable to cope with calm
they seek this excitation through objects, inner or outer
when the person attains the object the excitation releases in a momentary calm
this momentary calm is the essential nature of Presence, of Being
if not infused with Presence, and its calm, another object is sought to satisfy the craving for heightened feeling
and excitation is not meant to be lasting, and when such like jubilation is elongated it becomes a cause of suffering, inauthentic, unnatural
so, clinging to excitation means moving object to object the object may be outside, such as physical, or within, such as a thought or feeling
however, when close with Spirit, one's natural state is calm, not needing to rush from experience to experience for stimulation or to prolong excitation to remain on a feeling-high
so, the experience of jubilation is an expression of calm
when the enthusiasm is felt in the body it quickly dissolves back into the calm ~ like a wave that breaks into surf, moves onto the shore, then the water recedes back from the shore into the ocean
this is like a baseline heart rate the baseline for a contemplative is calm
